EV batteries are shipped from manufacturers to Cox Automotive's EV Battery Solutions facility in Oklahoma City. The batteries come in specialized, UN-certified crates designed to prevent fires, leaks and damage. The heavy-duty wooden crates, with specialized padding, can weigh up to 600 pounds each.

Thanks to a new take-back program with the crate maker, Cox is ensuring the crates are reused and preventing nearly 70,000 pounds of waste from going to a landfill.
