Manheim for Monarchs.
Monarch butterflies are an indicator of our ecosystem's health and have been in decline for the last 40 years. Hundreds of millions of Monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico each fall, stopping often for nectar and water on the 3,000-mile voyage. They roost in large clusters on trees overnight for warmth and safety. Cox Conserves is exploring installing enough monarch waystations at Manheim locations from Kansas City to Houston to provide essential habitat, plants and nectar sources, supporting the butterflies through their long migration.
